President William Ruto of Kenya is expected in Ntungamo district on 22rd May 2025 during Africa Business Forum and Investment which will be held at Inspire Africa Coffee Park.
The announcement was made by Inspire Africa Coffee Park CEO Nelson Tugume during the meeting with coffee haulers, farmers and coffee association leaders from different districts in Western Uganda lecturing them on contract farming which held on yesterday in Kabuhungu hills, Rwashamire Town Council Ntungamo district.
Addressing members at Inspire Africa Coffee Park, Tugume disclosed that President William Ruto will preside over the Africa Business Forum and Investment together with President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni among other government officials.
Tugume added that on 21st May 2025, one year after his initial inspection, President Museveni will follow up to assess the Inspire Africa Coffee factory project’s progress.

Tugume clarified that inspire Africa Coffee Park also organized a coffee marathon slated for May, 24, 2025 at the Inspire Africa Coffee Park in Kabuhungu hills, Rwashamire town Council.
He confirmed that the marathon is organized under the theme ‘Uplifting coffee woman from poverty’ with an aim to raise funds totaling to shs 2 billion stating that his mother’s advice and experiences are the source of the marathon concept.

CEO revealed that the money raised will be used to support women groups making it easier to access credit from their village groups.
According to him, the Coffee Marathon is aiming to reach an international audience of about 5000 people and a total of 100,000 participants where distances to be covered include 5km, 10km, 21km, and 40km and will be crowned with a coffee festival.
He called on people to participate such that the day becomes colorful whereby one to participate should pay 30,000 shillings.

Nelson, disregarded reports that Inspire Africa Coffee Park would compel people to sell them coffee during a meeting with coffee haulers, farmers, and heads of the coffee association, claiming that coffee is a free market.

Since 2023, the government has been investing in the coffee value chain through the Coffee Investment Consortium Uganda (CICU) to increase export revenue from coffee, create employment opportunities and increase the farm gate prices.
CICU is a consortium that unites coffee stakeholders in the country to add value to coffee and promote the export of value-added coffee from Uganda as a single source origin.
