Over 7 Million shillings, 56 bags of cement was raised yesterday during the fundraising towards the renovation of dilapidated Kazindiro Primary School classroom blocks in Bugangari Sub County Rukungiri district.
The fundraising drive commenced with a mass presided over by the Rwengiri Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Tumwijukye who urged Christians to support their school to reduce the distance their children trek to attain better education.
It was at this point that local residents with support by their area Member of Parliament and Security Minister Hon. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi who was the chief guest raised funds and materials to support the cause.
Most of the school buildings are in poor condition, according to Begambagye Julius, the head teacher, who stated that prompt action was necessary, hence organizing this fundraising.
Begambegye expressed gratitude to Minister Jim Muhwezi, who supported their school and the community as a whole since elected as the area MP, pledging their support come 2026 general elections.

During the function, Ahimbisibwe Dan Bahamire who represented Minister Jim Muhwezi on the function as the chief guest praised parents for the good initiative of renovating their school. Ahimbisibwe encouraged parents to always support their schools in different development agendas before the government intervenes since resources may be limited.
Meanwhile Ahimbisibwe on behalf of Jim Muhwezi cautioned parents against sending their children into early marriages since they are heading to the long holiday. Hon. Jim Muhwezi contributed 50 bags of cement towards the renovation of school structures.
