MP Ssekikubo seeks to clear his name in parliament

Theodore Ssekikubo, the Member of Parliament for Lwemiyaga County, has asked Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker, for permission to discuss a petition that purports to damage his reputation.

Voters in Lwemiyaga are accusing Ssekikubo of robbing people of their land, killing people, and demolishing buildings.

Ssekikubo disclosed that he wants the issue resolved since he finds it uncomfortable to be seated in Parliament with his reputation damaged.

In response, the Deputy Speaker Tayebwa acknowledged Ssekikubo’s request and promised to meet him on Thursday to arrange for a debate on the petition.

Last month, a group of people from Lwemiyaga led by one Yiga Kisakyamukama ran to parliament seeking help and delivered a petition accusing Ssekikubo of notorious acts in the constituency.
