Wild animals invade village in Kasese

The local council one chairperson for Kyondo cell in Nyamwamba Division Kasese Municipality, Mr. Emmanuel Katuramu, has expressed disapproval of wild animals raiding nearby crop gardens.

In an interview with our reporter at his office, Katuramu insisted that immediate government action be taken to avert the crisis.

He said that the area’s farmers are depending on God’s grace to survive after elephants destroyed hectares of food crops.

He requested payment from the Uganda Wildlife Authority for the harm that the wild animals had caused to some of the community members’ bodies, wrecked crops, and lost lives.

The chairperson of local council three, Mr. Pimako Kasereka, praised the leadership of local council one for inviting him to a dialogue meeting aimed at resolving the long-standing land dispute between two Majengo neighbors, which had allegedly impeded infrastructure development.

Pimako, urged his electorates to embrace government programs for food security and improved livelihoods.
