A group of youth claiming to be followers of Katonga Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) faction have returned to Party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
According to Twaha Ssendyowa, Nansana Municipality Mobiliser for FDC Katonga group, the current situation involving Erias Lukwago, Dr. Kizza Besigye, and other members is complex and raises various issues regarding their strategy, intentions, and good will to remove President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni from office.
These claim that the rescue Najjanankumbi campaign and other initiatives led by the Katonga group, such as the Tujja Tujja slogan, have received little attention, and their history of failed attempts to rally support calls into question their current efforts.
They say that the interim leadership, which includes organizing general elections with Micheal Kabaziguruka, has been extended several times with no clear electoral guidelines.
Ssendyowa questions why a third interim period is required if these elections were successfully held as planned.
He now calls for dissolution of Katonga based offices in relation to any political activities and declare that anybody who associates with the Katonga offices are doing so as friends of chairman Chappa Karuhanga but not for political purposes hence apologizing to leaders at FDC headquarters for being misled by self seekers.
While welcoming back the youth, the National Youth Chairperson at FDC Francis Adepo welcomed them back to the party and asked them to preach their message of reconciliation and unity among other Ugandans for a better country.
