NUP’s President Bobi Wine breaks silence as police disrupt Farewell Service for Jolly Mugisha

The funeral service for Jolly Mugisha, which was scheduled to begin at 10 am today, has been interrupted by police, NUP President Bobi Wine said.

Bobi Wine disclosed on social media that police had been called to Nyamityobora Grounds in Mbarara, where the farewell service was to take place.

According to Bobi Wine, all service providers have been scared away by the police, who have threatened to arrest them.

The opposition politician went on to say that RPC Wilfred Bagambaki had stated he had given the order to make sure the event would not be permitted to take place.

“In yet a cowardly, shameless move, the Museveni regime has blocked our event to celebrate the life and work of our distinguished Deputy President, Hon. Jolly Mugisha. The police has deployed heavily at Nyamityobora Grounds in Mbarara and blocked access to it.

“They have chased away all service providers and threatened to arrest them. This morning, the RPC, one Bagambaki Wilfred said he has orders not to allow this function, unless we get permission from the IGP! So shameless, so cowardly that even in death, they can behave in this manner.” Bobi Wine stated on his social media handles.
