Ugandans have been asked to embrace government programs aimed at improving household incomes and livelihoods.
The call was made by the Minister for Security who is also the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi during the official opening of Rujumbura Institute of Business and Technology in Kazindiro Parish, Bugangari Sub County Rukungiri district.
Minister Jim Muhwezi called upon people to take advantage of Parish Development Model (PDM) saying it is a government program aimed at fighting household poverty and creating jobs.
“All programmes that the government is coming up with are aimed at improving the individual household incomes so that consequently their livelihoods are made better,” Muhwezi said.
However, Minister Jim Muhwezi expressed his gratitude to the director of Rujumbura Institute of Business and Technology for the fantastic idea that teaches young people skills that can improve people’s quality of life.

The director of Rujumbura Institute of Business and Technology, Akatwijuka Brian, praises Minister Muhwezi for helping youth in Rujumbura acquire skills by providing Ugx. 300,000 to two students from each parish in the constituency.
Akatwijuka continued, saying that the institution educates young people in a variety of fields and that Minister Jim Muhwezi has agreed to provide each of the 120 students with 300,000 shillings.
Akatwijuka, in the meantime, informed the congregation that since Minister Jim Muhwezi has done things that speak for themselves and are helpful to people, there is no reason why they shouldn’t support him in the general elections of 2026.
