Rose Namayanja Nsereko, the deputy secretary general of National Resistance Movement (NRM), has asked Busoga leaders to concentrate on finding solutions for the problems that regular people in the sub region face.
She made the call on Tuesday at Mum Resort Hotel in Iganga, during a mobilization meeting hosted by the NRM Secretariat.
Namayanja emphasized that, in spite of challenges, leadership entails attending to the needs of the people.
She reaffirmed the party’s resolve to address the issues facing the community and get ready for the 2026 elections in order to win back the party’s strong support in Busoga.
The party’s mobilization research in the districts of Busoga and Buganda, according to Rosemary Seninde, director of Mobilization and Cadre Development, indicated the necessity of directly listening to the concerns of the populace.
She continued by saying that solving problems with sugarcane and fishing was of the utmost importance.
The NRM Secretariat was commended by lawmakers like as Agnes Taaka and Henry Bagiire for setting up the gathering.
They want more involvement, especially in areas like education where parents are still being solicited for money in spite of the program’s universality.
In response to a few of the leaders’ concerns, Namayanja gave them the assurance that their concerns would be communicated to the appropriate ministries and government organizations.
She declared that more forums would be held in order to get feedback from the community and address the concerns brought up.
The leaders of the party will interact with the fishing community in Mayuge district as well as the sugarcane growers in Jinja.
More than 200 figures attended the Busoga meeting, including members of parliament, chief executives of local governments, commissioners of resident districts, leaders of political parties, and representatives from the fishing and sugarcane farming communities.
