A total of 293,800,000 million shilling has been collected both in cash and pledges yesterday Saturday, November 9th 2024 during the Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) 2024 fundraising for Rukungiri district at a function held Nyakibale Catholic Parish in Eastern Division Rukungiri municipality.
The aim of this year’s BAAF is to complete a commercial building on Kabale-Mbarara road which will enable the diocese to generate more income to support other developments in the diocese.
Speaking during the function, Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi the Minister for Security and Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament thanked God for the opportunity granted to officiate as the chief guest in his home district.
Minister Muhwezi also thanked Bishop Callist Rubaramira for introducing BAAF which has established several projects in the Diocese that brings development in the area.
He also thanked him for teaching Believers to participate in Developmental programs which the government also preaches for people to get out of poverty.
In addition to providing Ugx. 500, 000 for each parish in Rujumbura County and Rukungiri municipality, Minister Jim Muhwezi also contributed Ugx. 10 million to BAAF and 2 million to Bishop Rubaramira as transport.

The bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira thanked the Christians for their continuous and fruitful fundraising efforts and pledged accountability and transparency for the money raised.
He thanked Minister Jim Muhwezi for accepting to officiate as chief guest at BAAF Rukungiri District and for his generous contribution of over Ugx. 10M in addition to other programs of giving services to people.
He however, invited all the people of God to the BAAF climax which will be on January 11, 2025 at Rushoroza Cathedral.

Meanwhile among other people who contributed towards the Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF)Â 2024 during the function include Rukungiri Municipality MP. Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa commonly known as Omuturagye with Ugx. 2M, Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata the Rukungiri district Woman Member of Parliament with Ugx. 2M among others.
Every year, funds are raised towards establishment of a particular project in Kabale Diocese and some of the completed projects include St. Ignatius University Kabale (2023), Centenary Bank Rukungiri (2022), Centenary Bank Kabale (2021), Centenary Bank Kisoro (2018) Radio Maria (2017) among others.
