Preparations are already underway for the massive youth and student convention that North Kigezi Diocese has scheduled for September 4th–7th, 2024.
Diocesan Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe confirmed the development today at a press conference held from his residence at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in Western Division Rukungiri municipality.
Bishop Asiimwe said that the convention will run under the theme “A rise and shine,” which is taken from Isaiah 60:1.
According to Bishop Onesimus, their primary goal is to equip and encourage young people with the gospel so they can reach their full potential adding this will be a time of renewal, revitalization, re-equipment, and revival.
Onesimus disclosed that youth are increasingly falling prey to a variety of wicked vices, such as relativism.
He asked parents to bring their children for three days, and the church would assist them in raising their offspring in an environment that is filled with dread of God.

The North Kigezi Diocesan Youth Coordinator, Rev. Andrew Kananura, praised God for giving the Diocese of North Kigezi the chance to prepare for today and tomorrow’s sermons.
According to Rev. Kananura, the convention is designed for young people between the ages of 12 and 35, with the goal of holistically challenging them to develop a fear of God.
Bishop Onesimus was praised by Kananura for considering the future generation and ensuring that the nation will one day have responsible Christians, mothers, and fathers in communities that will promote development and growth.
According to him, young people should pay 15,000 shillings for those traveling from close by and sleeping at home, and 25.000 shillings for those staying there.
