In a demonstration of his commitment to education and community development, Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi the minister for security who is also the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament has donated 50 bags of cement to Omurusheshe Primary school in Buhunga Sub County Rukungiri district.
The contribution was handed over to school authorities by Minister Jim Muhwezi’s political assistant Isaac Kaharuza during the ceremony attended by elder Silver Rukarama, Rukungiri district vice chairperson Mrs. Nahwera Santrinah, LC3 chairperson Buhunga Sub County Mr. Mugisha Benon, LC5 Councilor Kyarisima Benon, area councilors, parents among others.
Kaharuza confirmed that the donation was aimed at supporting the rehabilitation and enhancement of educational facilities in Omurusheshe Primary School which is government aided under the foundation of the Church of Uganda.

According to Musinguzi Emmanuel Kirakurate the head teacher Omurusheshe Primary School, the school facilities have been in dire need of refurbishment to allow for a better learning environment for the children thanking Minister Jim Muhwezi for the great support which will relieve them from the burden they have been facing as the school.

Speaking to the congregation on behalf of Hon. Jim Muhwezi, Isaac Kaharuza said that, as leaders, they have done what is right and urged the school administration to use the contribution for its intended use, as this will enable them to get more.

Minister Jim Muhwezi went on to say that as NRM government under the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, they are committed to supporting causes that uplift communities in all aspects of life urging them to be conscious while electing leaders as time comes.

The vice chairperson Rukungiri district, Nahwera Santrinah, stated that the work that Minister Jim Muhwezi has done in Buhunga as a sub County is commendable.
She asked pupils to convey this message to their parents and encourage them to support Hon. Jim in the general elections scheduled for 2026.

Benon Mugisha commonly known as “Aunt” requested pupils to avoid absenteeism and always report parents who normally force them to remain home during class time since education is a key of life.
According to Mugisha, there is no reason why Buhunga locals shouldn’t support Minister Jim Muhwezi in the next general elections, as they have gained more from his leadership.
