Rukungiri district authorities launch renovation of staff houses at Bwambara Health Centre (iii)

The Rukungiri district authorities have officially launched the renovation of staff houses at Bwambara Health Centre (III) in Bwambara Sub County, in a bid to provide better accommodation for health workers, so as to improve health service in the area.

The “Talented Engineering and Supply Limited” will complete the renovations within three months and at a cost of 38,127,216 shillings.

Painting, plastering, wiring, fixing the ceiling, and repairing the lightning conductor are all part of the rehabilitation works.

Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen, the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC), stated during the launch that although the government has made efforts to bring health services closer to people, the issue still exists with the public’s lack of awareness regarding disease prevention.

RDC Bewayo advised people to embrace life in a clean environment and make use of the government-provided mosquito nets in order to protect themselves from preventive diseases.

Additionally, he encouraged health workers to take ownership of and maintain staff quarters once renovations are finished so that other staff members can continue to utilize them in future.

Isaac Kaharuza, the political assistant for Hon. Jim Muhwezi, the Member of Parliament for Rujumbura County, stated that the refurbishment of the staff houses for medical personnel at Bwambara Health Center (iii) is an indication of good leadership by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his people.

Kaharuza asked people to support NRM come 2026 general elections for the continuity of such developments in Bwambara, Rujumbura and the entire district.

The chairperson LC3 Bwambara Sub County, Christopher Kagayano, commended the government for establishing this health center and for the wise choice to renovate staff quarters, which will enable people to receive better medical services.

According to Kagayano, Bwambara Health Center (III) gets a sizable population from both Bwambara as a sub-county and some from Kanungu, which makes it challenging to provide them with few drugs available since it is at the level of health centre III.
