RUKUNGIRI: Joys as hundreds attend chairman Wednesday Twinomujuni’s mega thanksgiving in Nyakishenyi

The Minister for security Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has urged Ugandans to focus on initiatives that put money in their pockets to improve their household income and eradicate poverty.

Minister Muhwezi made the revelation yesterday Saturday 14th December 2024 during a thanksgiving ceremony of Nyakishenyi Sub County chairperson LC3 Mr. Wednesday Twinomujuni held at Rwakitura Leisure Gardens in Murama Parish, Nyakishenyi in Rukungiri district.

The function was organized to raise funds for the ambulance and to celebrate several personal milestones, including his daughter’s graduation and his wife’s recent inclusion on the government payroll.

Speaking as the chief guest during the function, Minister Muhwezi who was represented by the Rukungiri district chairperson LC5 Mr. Geoffrey Kyomukama said that instead of spending a lot of time drinking alcohol, people should work hard and have a source of income.

He said that Nyakishenyi Sub County lacks ambulance because government ambulances are majorly stationed at Health Center IV’s which is constituency level adding that it was worth for Twinomujuni to come up with an idea of fundraising for one though government thinks about Nyakishenyi and Nyarushanje Sub Counties which are hard to reach.

Mr. Twinomujuni Wednesday said that he is seeking over 80 million shillings to purchase an ambulance for Nyakishenyi Sub County which is hard to reach in Rukungiri district.

According to Twinomujuni, his inspiration stemmed from a near-fatal accident he had in April 2020, but is now alive by God’s mercy.

Twinomujuni attributed his survival to friends who hurried him to the hospital after the accident, stating that it was challenging to reach an ambulance in time for help.

In order to serve the people of Nyakishenyi, he stated this experience motivated him to raise money for an ambulance and to do this, he needs the public’s help to raise more than 80 million shillings.
