Rukungiri Municipality aspiring MP Andrew Ankunda Kikira donates 100 bags of cement, bricks to expand Ruruku Mosque

Ankunda Andrew Kikira, the Rukungiri Municipality aspirant MP together with his Muslim friends have made a significant contribution of 100 bags of cement and two tracks of bricks towards the expansion of Ruruku Mosque in Western Division Rukungiri Municipality.

The gesture by Andrew Ankunda reflects his continued commitment to community development, particularly in Rukungiri Municipality.

Presiding over the fundraising drive at Ruruku Mosque as the chief guest, Ankunda said that it is the role of the leaders to fulfill their obligations diligently and serve all people regardless of their political or religious affiliations if they are to improve service delivery in the communities being the reason why he decided to support Ruruku Mosque.

Ankunda added that people need to focus on developing their municipality, saying the future of Uganda will be shaped by what happens not just in Kampala, but also in Rukungiri Municipality reason being he intends to contest as their area Member of Parliament.

He however, commended those who are helping him with these advancements, citing Salleh Kalem as one of them.

The Rukungiri Muslim District Kadhi, Sheikh Abdul Malik Byaruhanga claimed that Muslims no longer fulfill their responsibilities and that it is now time for them to take the necessary steps to advance their faith in line with others.

Sheikh Abdu Malik hailed Ankunda Andrew Kikira for the great contribution towards the expansion of Ruruku adding that these are the leaders they want as Muslims who are non sectarian.

Ruruku mosque Imam Sheik Muzamil Musinguzi explained that after the expansion of the mosque, they will focus on renovating their school in order to raise the quality of education.
