Hon. Andrew Ankunda Kikira who eyes for Rukungiri Municipality Parliamentary Seat has donated a hand pump borehole to Rukungiri main Mosque for the use of residents of the community.
Ankunda stated that he decided to donate the borehole to Rukungiri Main mosque as part of his efforts to support Muslim community that has been grappling with lack of adequate clean and safe water.
Speaking today afternoon during the construction launch at Rukungiri Main Mosque, Hon. Ankunda Andrew revealed that he partnered with the Nile Humanitarian Development Agency, a non-governmental organization such that Muslim community can access water on a daily basis.
Ankunda clarified that water is the most crucial aspect of life especially in Muslim community during their prayers being a reason why he decided to donate, in order to reduce the burden they have been facing to access water.

He also donated a harvesting water tank for the same Muslim community, calling upon the leadership and the entire Muslim community of Rukungiri Main Mosque to ensure proper usage and routine maintenance of this borehole and tank.

During the construction launch, Rukungiri District Kadhi Abdul Malik Kayole thanked Hon. Ankunda Andrew Kikira for saving them as a Muslim community and explained that the lack of adequate and nearby clean water sources has been a significant obstacle.

As the country approaches election season, Kayole promised their full support as the Muslim community in Rukungiri for Hon. Ankunda.
