President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has put corrupt officials on notice over the mismanagement of Parish Development Model (PDM) saying he will not show mercy on them.
President Museveni who was accompanied by his Wife First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni made the revelation yesterday during the meeting with leaders and stakeholders from Kigezi Sub Region in Rukungiri main Stadium, Southern division Rukungiri municipality.
Leaders and stakeholders were from districts of Rubanda, Rukiga, Kabale, Kisoro, Kanungu and Rukungiri.
The Presidential tour in Kigezi Sub Region which began on Wednesday 12th February 2025 runs under the theme securing your future through wealth creation and shared prosperity.
Addressing the leaders, Museveni said he has been told that there are parasites that are swarming around Parish Development Model saying he will handle them viciously.
President Museveni added that he ordered banks to immediately stop deducting charges from the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds, stressing that Ugandans are entitled to receive the full amount of Shs1 million.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni warned Kigezi leaders against sectarianism that may compromise pillars of developing the economy and country at large.
Museveni said people should be elected because of their competencies not tribal or religious affiliation which he said leaves out competent people to serve the country.

Leaders of Kigezi Sub Region who were represented by Security Minister Jim Katugugu Muhwezi during the meeting asked President Museveni to support them in establishment of Irish potato hub in Kacwekano zonal agricultural research and development system, support Kigezi tea factories in Kigezi sub region among others which they indicated in a letter represented to President.
As Kigezi sub Region leaders, Minister Jim Muhwezi said they pledge their total support to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni come 2026 general elections for the continuity of development.
