The Rujumbura County area member of Parliament who is also the security Minister Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has asked boda boda riders to always unite, work together in order to achieve their goals.
Minister Jim Muhwezi made the call on Sunday while presiding over the friendly football games between Kyomera Boda Boda stages in Rwengiri, Bugangari Sub County Rukungiri district.
Hon. Jim was represented by Ahimbisibwe Dan Bahamire, his political coordinator in Bugangari Sub County Rujumbura County in Rukungiri district.
Five Boda Boda stages these are Kyomera Boda stages A, B, C, and D, as well as Vubankumwe Boda boda stage participated in the football friendly matches.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Jim praised the Boda Boda riders’ contributions, particularly in maintaining security, and urged them to maintain their togetherness since it will enable them to meet their development objectives.
He went on to say that practicing football keeps them healthy and physically strong and keeps them from committing crimes in their spare time.
Dan Ahimbisibwe himself promised to purchase football for every Boda Boda stage, while Hon. Jim Muhwezi contributed 1M shillings in assistance.

The initiator of these friendly matches, Charles Byaruhanga, stated that they came up with the concept of playing football so that they can get to know one another and foster personal growth.
Charles commended Minister Jim Muhwezi for his contributions to the development of their area and Bugangari as a whole, pledging to back him come 2026 general elections to ensure that progress continues.
