VIDEO: Excitement as Rukungiri Municipality hopeful MP Counsel Isaac donates 100 bags of cement to Kyatoko P/S in a mega fundraising 

Counsel Isaac Atukunda, the Rukungiri Municipality hopeful Member of Parliament has asked old students to keep in touch with their former schools and give them due support.

He said that former schools made most of the people what they are and thus have the responsibility to keep in touch with them and also participate in their development programs.

Atukunda made the revelation yesterday Saturday while addressing as the guest of honor during the fundraising towards the construction of three classrooms, six stance-latrines and purchasing of computers at Kyatoko Primary School in Eastern division Rukungiri municipality.

Speaking to the audience, Counsel Isaac Atukunda explained that individuals should work together to raise the educational standards of the next generation rather than having the pitiful belief that the government is the only entity that needs to support their schools.

The hopeful MP went on and encouraged learners to commit to their studies, perform well and be upright pupils since education is the cornerstone of securing a successful future.

As an old student of Kyatoko Primary School, Counsel Isaac Atukunda mobilized over 15M shillings from well-wishers and also he contributed 100 bags of cement towards the purpose of the fundraising at school.

He confirmed to Rukungiri Municipality residents that he is ready to contest and represent them in Parliament as their legislator in a bid to solve problems which affect the common person.

Ahumuza Samuel Besimbire, Kyatoko Primary School head teacher and Gershom Twesigye, the chairperson organizing committee said that with the increasing number of pupils, they have been facing a challenge of limited classrooms and toilets forcing them to hold a fundraising to solve the problem.

Ahumuza thanked the foundation body, Counsel Isaac who was the chief guest and all well wishers who contributed towards the day’s cause, pledging to utilize the funds and items collected for the intended purpose.

Over 30M shillings and 107 bags of cement were raised during the fundraising.
