Wakiso Deputy RDC Sheikh Kassim urges Kigezi youths to embrace discipline, leadership values

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Wakiso District, Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha, has urged the youths of Kigezi Sub Region to avoid teenage pregnancies and drug abuse.

Speaking as an alumnus of St. Mary’s College Rushoroza on Friday 06th December 2024 during the Kabale Diocesan Annual Youth Conference 2024, where over 400 youth gathered at School Compound in Rushoroza cell, Southern Division Kabale Municipality on the First day of Preaching sessions for the Three-Day Youths Conference. 

Speaking as one of the guest speakers, Sheikh Kamugisha who is the hopeful Member of Parliament for Kabale Municipality emphasized the importance of making responsible choices and avoiding behaviors that can hinder their success.

Sheikh Kamugisha highlighted the detrimental effects of early teenage pregnancies on both the individuals involved and their communities stressing that such pregnancies often result in a cycle of poverty and limited opportunities for the young mothers and their children.

He requested youth to avoid early pregnancies but rather focus on their education and personal growth, setting a strong foundation for their future endeavors.

Sheikh Kamugisha emphasized that the path to effective leadership begins with making the right choices in the youthful stage.

By avoiding early teenage pregnancies and drug abuse, he said that the youths can lay a solid foundation for their personal and professional development

Sheikh Kassim further advised the youths who want to be Leaders in future to embark on having a Godly element in them.

He however, thanked Bishop Callist Rubaramira, the Bishop of Kabale Catholic Diocese for giving a platform to such activities for the Spiritual nourishment and building for the youths
