Bridge of Hope Ministries, a nongovernmental organization yesterday donated two sewing machines to support the youth skilling program in a bid to promote massive wealth creation by the young people.
The handover ceremony was held at Riverside hotel in Eastern Division Rukungiri municipality.
While handing over the machines to the benefiting children who went under training for one year, the founder of Bridge of Hope Ministries Abaasa Benjamin Tibemanya said this will support his vision of youth’s empowerment through the skilling program being conducted under the Bridge of Hope Ministries.
Abaasa said that the focus is to derive alternative sources of livelihoods among vulnerable children, something that can bring additional incomes.
He added that once these vulnerable youths are empowered, they will be able to find genuine livelihood sources other than engaging in criminal activities as a means of survival.
Abaasa emphasized the organization’s community impact, stating that Bridge of Hope has not only provided assistance to children but has also constructed houses and toilets for vulnerable individuals and protected water springs in different parts of Rukungiri district.
