The Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen, in partnership with Rukungiri municipality authorities yesterday launched the reconstruction of Kafunjo Bridge in Southern division which connects Rukungiri municipality and Buyanja Sub County.
The bridge was destroyed during last year’s severe rains, which made it more difficult for the transportation of goods and services.
During the launch, RDC Bewayo expressed gratitude to the Ugandan government, led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for providing funds necessary to reconstruct the bridge, which had been in bad condition.
Bewayo said that once completed, Kafunjo Bridge which is along Rubabo road will ease the movement of goods and services leading to development.
According to RDC Bewayo, the project will be carried out using the fourth account, and the responsible leaders are urged to keep an eye on it and oversee it to ensure that high-quality work is produced for the public’s benefit.
