The Electoral Commission has been given a week by Forum for Democratic Change-Katonga group to provide registration papers to the organizers of the People’s Front for Freedom [PFF], a new political party they plan to launch.
The interim president of the FDC Katonga faction, Mr. Erias Lukwago, told journalists in an interview at their offices on Katonga Road in Kampala yesterday that the EC has until Monday of next week to release registration forms and publish the new name of their intended party, after which they will wait to hear from them.
Cue in…Lukwago speaking…….
The name and colors of the prospective party were questioned in a letter the EC sent to the PFF promoters that surfaced last week.
The Commission Secretary, Mulekwah Russell Jacques Leonard, wrote a letter on behalf of the EC advising the PFF to reevaluate its name and colors as they have similarities to those of other political parties.
