Former Rujumbura County MP’s driver, FDC diehards cross to NRM in Rukungiri

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party stalwarts in Rujumbura County Rukungiri district are celebrating over what they described as a big catch.

This comes after the driver of a former Member of Parliament for Rujumbura County, Hon. Fred Turyamuhweza, surrendered and checked in, along with around 250 FDC diehards in Ruhinda Sub County Rukungiri district, who joined NRM at an event held on yesterday at Sub County headquarters.

The Minister for Security, Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, spoke to the converts and encouraged the opposition in Rukungiri to join the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party so that they could work together to advance the nation.

Minister Muhwezi believes that in order to positively advance Uganda’s progress, opposition supporters should join the NRM before Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye and other notable leaders do.

According to him, individuals who support the FDC are more resistant to the fact that the majority of prominent opposition personalities joined the NRM earlier and are taking pleasure in the government praising those who have joined for making the correct choice at the appropriate moment.
