Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, met with a high-ranking Russian military delegation at the Special Forces Command (SFC) headquarters in Entebbe.
The delegation, led by the Russian Minister of Defence, sought to improve relations between the Russian Armed Forces and the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF).
Lt Gen James Mugira, Managing Director of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), the UPDF’s economic arm, also attended the conference, which focused on boosting defense and security cooperation.
This follows Gen Kainerugaba’s recent visit to Moscow, where he recently led a military delegation.
The CDF has also held several meetings with top military officials from Russia in recent times.
