As the holy month of Ramadan clocks, Rukungiri municipality hopeful Member of Parliament Counsel Isaac Atukunda yesterday Thursday honored the Muslim community with Ramadan Sadaqah to all mosques in Rukungiri municipality.
Counsel Isaac delivered food items including rice and posho to Muslim community at Rukungiri main Mosque, Marumba, Burengyero in Katwe Kamwe and Ruruku mosque all in Rukungiri municipality.
They were given to these mosque leaders and they were accompanied by their Muslim fraternity.
While receiving the food items at Rukungiri main Mosque, district Kadhi Sheikh Abdul Malik Byaruhanga Kayole thanked Counsel Isaac Atukunda for his generosity and pledged a continued working relationship for the development of Muslim community.
Sheik Abdu Malik told Muslims that this is the right time to repent and turn to Allah (God) during Ramadhan.

After handing over the food items, Counsel Isaac Atukunda revealed that he is recognizing the importance of Ramadan and its significance to Muslims especially from Rukungiri municipality.
Atukunda was flanked by different dignitaries including Kapesha Johnson, councilor representing southern division in Rukungiri municipality, councilor Kenneth Mushabe, Esther Rwamunahe, Innocent Muhwezi among others.
He advised Muslims to pray during the holy month of Ramadan so that Allah can meet their necessities.
Counsel Isaac affirmed to Muslim community that he must run in the upcoming elections as a member of parliament for Rukungiri municipality, vowing to improve the area’s growth as several residents already attest to.
