A pastor of Prophecy Pentecostal Church named Alex Mugisha has been taken into custody by Mubende police for the murder of his 6-year-old son, Samuel Niyokusiima.
The incident happened in Kanseera village, Mubende district on Tuesday morning.
Mediya Mukanohere, the deceased’s mother, stated that the incident occurred after she had gone to the garden.
When she got back, her husband’s clothing were covered in blood. When she went inside the house to investigate, she discovered their child’s lifeless body in a pool of blood.
She alerted the residents, who immediately pounced on the husband, but he was shortly rescued by the police. He confessed to having killed his son, claiming that he has mental challenges.
Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Racheal Kawala, confirmed the incident, saying that investigations into the matter have commenced.
