Police have admitted that there were some glitches that happened during an operation at Acacia Mall in Kamwokya, Kampala where six suspected robbers were gunned down in an operation conducted last week.
This comes after the Minister of Internal Affairs, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, sharply criticized the Police Force for the extra-judicial killing of these six Ugandans in the operation.
Otafiire who was appearing before Parliament’s Defence and Internal Affairs Committee last week then called for immediate action and accountability for those responsible for the killings, assuring the public that there would be consequences for such behaviour.
ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson while addressing the weekly police press conference on Monday at their headquarters at Naguru, Kampala noted that they recognize some errors in the operation but they are still analyzing the whole exercise as per the Minister’s advice.
He however says that the public should know that robbery gangs are in existence, terrorizing targeted people in the community.
