Residents of Ngoma Parish in Nyakishenyi Sub County Rukungiri district have lived for years without convenient access roads and connection to other areas, including markets and health centers.
The people in villages of Nyabisoni, Kakyenkye and Kabingo are disadvantaged in terms of accessing markets, health centres and education facilities.
According to the LC 1 Chairperson Kakyenkye cell Mr. Byarugaba Martin, majority of his population grow bananas, coffee, beans, peas, cassava, sweet potatoes and Irish potatoes as food and cash crops but cannot take them to markets because of poor roads hence selling them cheaply.
Byarugaba said the highest price a farmer can sell a bunch of matooke is Shs.5,000 yet it costs more than Shs10,000 in areas with better access to roads.
Following these challenges, Byarugaba said they contacted Madam Doreen Busingye Muheru who is eyeing for the Rubabo County Parliamentary seat who intervenes immediately to rescue residents through community work (Burungyi Bwansi).
The road which was worked on through Burungyi Bwansi courtesy of Hon. Doreen connects Ngoma hospital to the villages of Nyabisoni, Kakyenkye and Kigarama.
Byarugaba continued praising Hon. Doreen for her assistance during their community work promising their support come 2026 general elections.

Elias Kahigyi Byereeta, Tumuheki Midius, Turyahabwe Peter and Erikarito Kitende some of the residents told our reporter that this road will steer development since some traders have been cheating farmers because of lack of access to markets.
These added that there is still a need for government intervention since most of their roads are in dilapidated state.
Residents thanked Hon. Doreen for her intervention describing her as a leader who will fully sort out their issues when elected as area legislator.
