RUKUNGIRI: Assistant RDC Kagisha urges people to help vulnerable as Bridge of Hope donates food items ahead of x-mas

As an act of humanity, the Rukungiri Assistant Resident District Commissioner Ms. Kallen Kagisha has called upon people to give towards the welfare of the vulnerable individuals as a way of getting blessing from God.

Ms. Kagisha made the call yesterday Tuesday while officiating the handover of startup tools and Christmas package to children of Bridge of Hope Ministries, a non government organization based in Kahengye, Kebisoni town council Rukungiri district.

Speaking to the parents and their children, Ms. Kagisha asked the public to always have a giving heart to vulnerable groups especially during this time of festive seasons explaining that it’s when they will be blessed and get more from God.

Kagisha rallies those who can give to the poor to do so without any hesitation to make their festivities lovely and memorable.

She thanked the government of Uganda for the political stability where it allows NGO’s to operate and help people who need services.

Abaasa Benjamin Tibemanya the founder of Bridge of Hope Ministries explained that the organization helps over two 200 households and each child receives a minimum of Ugx 50,000 monthly to help them for their sustainability.

Abaasa added that as they enjoy their Christmas season, each child was given 70,000 shillings and other food items including Posho to help them in this period.

Abaasa emphasized the organization’s community impact, stating that Bridge of Hope has not only provided assistance to children but has also constructed houses and toilets for vulnerable individuals and protected water springs in different parts of Rukungiri district.

He further stated that the organization is presently prioritizing the vocational skills of its children in order to enable them to secure employment and ensure their own survival.

Upon receiving their startup tools, Nuwamanya Ean, Niwegariho Mark, and Ainembabazi Brenda, some of students who successfully completed their vocational training, expressed gratitude to Bridge of Hope Ministries pledging to work diligently, support their families, and provide assistance to others in need.

Meanwhile, during the function, parents and their children hold the thanksgiving where the offertories got, including beans, posho, cabbages, bananas, cash money among others will later be donated to inmates of Rukungiri prison to help them during this Christmas festivities.

The organization aimed at helping vulnerable children started in 2009 and is supported by Bridge of Hope Charity Organization based in the UK.
