Bridge of Hope, a nongovernmental organization yesterday Thursday launched the construction of protected water spring in Karire cell, Eastern ward Kebisoni town council in Rukungiri district.
The construction launch was witnessed by the Rukungiri district Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata and it is aiming to provide clean and safe water to the community.
According to Bridge of Hope Ministries’ founder, Abaasa Benjamin Tibemanya, they donated the project after discovering that the area lacked safe and clean water, which compelled them to step in.
He also mentioned that the protected water spring will help local institutions such as churches and schools after the completion of the project in a stipulated time of three weeks.
As an NGO, Abaasa revealed that they are collaborating with the government to ensure that people receive better services.
He continued by saying that Bridge of Hope has so far built more than forty-three protected water springs and they are currently being used in various parts of Rukungiri district.
Abaasa urged people to always choose leaders who care about them and work to solve their issues rather than those who divide them for their individual interests.
He gave an example of Rukungiri district woman MP Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata, who reached out to them and asked for a water spring to provide clean water to the people of Karire village.
