Buyanja Sub County Council has awarded a certificate of recognition to Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata, the Woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri District, for her outstanding efforts in showcasing exemplary work in service delivery.
The awarding of Hon. Natukunda took place last week at Buyanja Sub County headquarters in Rukungiri district during the Sub County council meeting for the fiscal year 2023/2024.
Speaking with our reporter, the Buyanja Sub County chairperson LC3 Mr. Agaba Emmy Rubondo said that they focused on thanking Hon. Natukunda and other individuals who are dedicated to assisting Sub County.
“They showed commitment in supporting our sub County in terms of service delivery and other developments where communities benefit from,” Rubondo said.
Rubondo claimed that even though the government supports the Sub County, they have been working with many stakeholders, some of whom are not politicians, to develop their area.
He gave the rehabilitation of roads and the on-going construction of the Sub County headquarters as examples.
He went on to say that the decision to reward her was made because Hon. Midius Kaharata donated a water harvesting tank that was erected at Rwenshenkye Market and benefits many people in addition to an electricity pole and other projects.

Hon. Naboth Namanya, a member of parliament for Rubabo County, Elder Emmanuel Kikoni, Canon Katusiime, Michael Tukahirwa, and Afande Kasura are just a few of the other honoured people.
Regarding the certificate of appreciation, Hon. Midius Natukunda expressed her humility at being acknowledged.
“I’m very happy and humbled that Buyanja Sub County Council considered me in high regard,” Natukunda said.
