Thousands of Christians yesterday Sunday gathered at Rwengiri Catholic Parish in Bugangari Sub County Rukungiri district to celebrate the 50 dedicated years of Priestly services of Rev. Fr. Narasisio Begumisa.
Speaking during the function, Rev Fr. Jeremiah Tumwijukye, the Rwengiri Parish Priest praised Fr. Begumisa for his spirit of generosity and care for others, sharing with them the little he has.
Fr. Jeremiah also appreciated Fr. Begumisa for the spirit of hard work and executing his priestly duties.

Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi the Minister for Security who is also the Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament while addressing the congregation as the chief guest praised Fr. Begumisa Narasisio for leading God’s people and contributing to their prosperity.
Hon. Jim Muhwezi used the same occasion to warn men against selling family land without the consent of their wives.
He clarified that those who want to buy land belonging to a family must ensure that all members have consented.
Minister Jim Muhwezi urged Women to report any illegal deals their husbands may be involved in to the authorities.
“Some men even sell their land during drinking sprees in bars realizing their money is not enough and negotiate with bar owners to give them more alcohol in exchange for land “Muhwezi said.
However, Muhwezi congratulates Fr. Begumisa with 5 million shillings upon 50 years of priesthood.

Hon. Annah Nuwagaba the Rukungiri district hopeful Woman Member of Parliament thanked Fr. Begumisa for his tireless efforts in spreading the Gospel of Christ without segregation and without fear or favor.
Nuwagaba urged parents and guardians to take care of their children during the long holiday, ensuring they are protected from potential dangers.
She emphasized that while schools play their part, it is equally important for parents to fulfill their responsibilities to keep children safe.

In his speech, Fr. Begumisa Narasisio thanked God for the gift of life and the gift of ministerial priesthood that he has spent 50 years in service.
Fr. Begumisa thanked Rev. Fr. Jeremiah for the great work done during the mobilization for the function to take place.

Among other dignitaries who attended the function include Hon. Frank Rukanirwa, Former Rubabo County MP. Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo, Rukungiri Deputy Resident District Commissioner Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom among others.
Hailing from Kisizi in Nyarushanje Sub County Rukungiri district, Rev. Fr. Begumisa Narasisio served in different parishes of Kabale Diocese including Nyakibale, Omurubanda, Rushoroza, Buhaara, Kakore, Makiro, Kambuga, Rwamagaya, Rutooma and Rwengiri Catholic Parish.
