Excitement as renovation of roads commences in Bwambara S/C courtesy of Hon Jim Muhwezi, urges residents to engage in money economy

The office of Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi yesterday Tuesday launched the renovation of dilapidated roads from Bwambara Sub County in order to facilitate transportation within the area.

Hon. Jim Muhwezi who is also the minister for security was represented by his team led by Mr. Isaac Kaharuza Political Assistant, his area coordinators and Bwambara Sub County leadership.

They began with the renovation of road that connects Omukahangire to Nyakatembe Trading Center in Kikarara Parish Bwambara Sub County.

Speaking during the launch, Hon. Jim Muhwezi through his political Assistant Isaac Kaharuza urged residents to engage in money economy through taking advantage of government programs like Parish Development Model (PDM) among others to increase production.

The chairperson LC3 Bwambara Sub County Mr. Chris Kagayano expressed his gratitude to Minister Jim Muhwezi for considering his people, who had greater difficulties in accessing health centers, schools, and market centers praising him for his prompt intervention in resolving the issue.

James Musimenta, councillor for Kikarara Parish who has been openly opposing Minister Jim Muhwezi for some time, clarifies how he is now a blessing, stating his accomplishment during his tenure indicating that is a man of his word who has the ability to elevate Rujumbura to a new level.

Some of the residents, including Tumwikirize Amos, Irene Mujuni, and Mugabirwe Anna, thanked Minister Jim for his participation in resolving their long-standing problem especially getting their crops to market and accessing health centers.

The poor state of their roads, according to Twinobusingye Gideon and Katusiime Scovia, made it very difficult for vehicles and motorcycles to move, which compelled locals to sell their goods for less money.

With the help of a grader he obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture, Minister Jim Muhwezi pledged to address the issue of bad roads in Rujumbura County.

To date, more than 95% of the roads have been improved.
