Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, a member of parliament for Rukungiri municipality yesterday donated 87 iron sheets to Nyamayenje Catholic church in southern division Rukungiri municipality.
The donated iron sheets were intended for the catechist’s home roof.
Speaking to Christians at the fundraising event to raise money for the completion of the Catechist house, Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, a member of parliament for Rukungiri municipality, urged them to always take into account a candidate’s background and educational attainment before electing them to a position of authority.
Additionally, the MP urged Christians to pray for him, stating that it would enable him to continue developing Rukungiri municipality and work for the people.
At the same event, Abraham Baryajunwa, the MP’s coordinator for southern division, urged Christians to cooperate during this election season and vote wisely if they wish to see their communities grow.
During the fundraising mass, Nyakibale parish’s Fr. Cleophas Magara urged leaders to engage with everyone, regardless of their political affiliation, ethnicity, religion, or tribe.
He also called unity among Christians as the only tool for development.
A total of over Shs.5 million, 87 iron sheets, 14 bags of cement, 2 trips of sand were raised to support the completion of the catechist house at Nyamayenje Catholic Church.
