The leaders of the Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire group have expressed regret for the incident that occurred on October 7, 2024, when they called a meeting that was subsequently barred by Rukungiri district security personnel.
They confirmed the development during the press conference conducted at Palm Royal Hotel Rukungiri in Southern Division Rukungiri municipality today morning.
The team was headed by Mr. Moses Rwakakyaka, the vice chairperson of Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group in southwest region.
Among the committee members who attended the press conference include Earnest Twetabe, the vice secretary, Tumuramye Alex, the publicity secretary, Mwetise Ezra Kahagama, the vice coordinator for Rukungiri district, and Banada Gumisiriza.
Moses Rwakakyaka told reporters that Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group’s leaders blame their top leadership for failing to notify security personnel about the meeting, which was later blocked.
He continued by expressing regret to every member of Boona Bagaigahare Nyenkundire Group for what went wrong on that very day.
Rwakakyaka praised Minister Jim Muhwezi for carrying out the president’s directive and thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his guidance during their visit to the state house early this year.
However, he refuted the social media accusation that Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi impedes Boona Bagaigahare’s programs, saying that the information is untrue and should be disregarded by public.
