Counsel Isaac Atukunda commits to promote talents among Rukungiri Municipality youth, donates 86 footballs

The Rukungiri municipality hopeful Member of Parliament Counsel Isaac Atukunda, has donated 86 footballs to all youth within villages of Rukungiri municipality in an effort to foster their skills and keep them from getting bored.

These footballs were donated today and he was represented by his ground crew, which was composed of Kenneth Mushabe, Kapesha Johnson, and Innocent Muhwezi.

Speaking to the youngsters in Rwetondo Ward, Eastern Division Rukungiri Municipality, Mushabe expressed gratitude to Counsel Isaac Atukunda for his vision to develop the abilities of young people who make up a significant portion of Uganda’s population.

Mushabe went on to say that in addition to helping youth, Counsel Isaac has also helped Rukungiri Municipality grow in other areas, such as providing safe and clean water, infrastructure, education, and health.

He revealed that sports keep young people occupied and helps them develop their talents while also keeping them safe.

Innocent Muhwezi, councilor Kagashe ward and youth coordinator for Isaac stated that since he came, many accomplishments have been made and that, in comparison to previous leaders, they are gaining from him as young people.

Counsel Isaac donated 5 million shillings to youth in Rukungiri municipality, and within six months, they had over 10 million shillings, Muhwezi said, pledging their support in 2025–2026 elections for further development.

Kapesha Johnson, one of Counsel Isaac’s team members and councilor representing Southern division in Rukungiri municipality, stated that football is currently one of the revenue streams.

He also thanked Council Isaac for his innovative proposal to encourage young sports.

According to Kapesha, Counsel Isaac Atukunda’s accomplishments before being an MP speak for themselves, demonstrating that he will naturally advance Rukungiri Municipality after being elected as an MP, particularly in terms of receiving high-quality service delivery.

Some of the youth including Asinguza Jerome, Nayebare Amset, and Twinamatsiko Crescent, praised Counsel Isaac for considering them as young people, vowing to support him in forthcoming general elections.
