Nyakinengo Parish in Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri district emerged victorious in Jim Cup Tournament at Sub County level finals after defeating Kigaga Parish 1-0.
The event took place at Kasoroza play ground in Nyakagyeme Sub County whereby four parishes participated in competitions including Nyakinengo, Kigaga, Rushasha and Kabwoma.
Jim Cup tournament is organized by the Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament who is also security minister Hon. Jim Muhwezi and it brought together all Parishes at Sub County levels and after, inter-Sub Counties competitions.
Speaking as the chief guest, Isaac Kaharuza the political Assistant for Hon. Jim Muhwezi said that the Minister is promoting youth talents and unity in addition to physical exercises among his people.
Kaharuza urged players to avoid behaviors that could harm their football careers and emphasized the importance of training to remain fit and achieve greater success.
According to Kaharuza, the NRM government, led by President Museveni, has implemented a number of initiatives to assist young people, such as the Youth Livelihood Funds, Emyooga, and Parish Development Model, among others, which aid in their personal growth.

Ahimbisibwe Dan Bahamire, the coordinator of Jim Cup in Rujumbura Constituency said that the minister initiated the competition to identify talents since it will enable some young people to receive scholarships and join other elite teams at a higher level.
Ahimbisibwe highlighted the financial benefits Uganda has reaped from its successful sports personalities who have excelled locally and internationally.
In order to battle fiercely with other Sub Counties and take home trophy, he urged Nyakagyeme Sub County to get involved in Jim Cup.

Yesterday Saturday in Ruhinda Sub County, Ndere Parish also emerged victorious in Jim Cup after defeating Burombe Parish 2-1.
Other parishes that participated in the match include Nyakitabire B and Kicwaba.
Each participating parish received 200,000 shillings, while the winner parish in each Sub County of Rujumbura received 500,000, 400,000, 300,000, and 250,000 shillings for winning the Jim Cup.
